MySpace - Tim Wyskida
Tim Wyskida started playing drums at the age of 12.
He took lessons from a jazz drummer who taught him how to read music and play jazz.
His early years were spent playing in school band and with various traditional rock and jazz bands.
As the years passed, frustration set in as it seemed every musician he played with was interested in mindlessly reinforcing musical traditions rather than exploring new ideas.
By the late 90's he stopped playing with other musicians entirely in favor of composing and recording music by himself.
Around 2000 he finally found musicians whose interests weren't nauseatingly steeped in tradition.
He started playing with Blind Idiot God, an already established, instrumental avant metal / dub group.
Downriver, a monotonous, melodic, repetitive, partially improvised instumental group.
And Khanate, an ugly, slug paced, brawny ambient metal group who would often play in 1/1 time. Tours and recordings led to many other projects.
Plotkin & Wyskida, an instrumental improvisation duo.
Two unnamed groups along with James Plotkin - one of which includes Aaron Turner (ISIS) and the other, guitarist Mick Barr. He is also the live drummer for Khlyst, a free form metal trio with James Plotkin and
Runhild Gammelsaeter. Numerous other projects are currently in the works...
