Chanutr Techatananan was born in Bangkok, Thailand in 1978. He has performed a number of jazz venues throughout Thailand. In 2002, he earned an award "Winner of the Best Drummer in the Open League Category" from Thailand Drum Contest No.1 which was organized through a cooperation of Percussive Art Society International Convention (PASIC). Recently, he has also released a highly acclaimed drum instructional DVD "Over the Barline" that received overwhelmingly positive reviews.
Chanutr is now teaching full time at Thailand's most recognized College of Music--Silpakorn University where he continues to perform and do workshops extensively.
