The maple snare really sings. Somewhat surprisingly. it boasts a slightly longer decay than its metal counterparts. This decay combines with a wide range of pleasant harmonics to create the drum's resonant sound. Yet the drum remains clear. without any loss of articulation in playing. The warm. throaty crack that comes forth is everything you'd expect from a good. wood snare. Building up the roar of a triple-forte buzz roll with this drum is something I could happily do all day. by Martin Patmos. Modern Drummer magazine. (January 2003 issue)
