The drum sound was the Heartbeat of the Ensemble !

Just as music has evolved over time, a metamorphosis in the development of musical instruments, which were largely affected by the social influence, also took place through the ages. In addition, it is true that better musical instruments resulted more by chance than by an applied calculated specification.
The popular drum sound produced at the rock scenes of '60s could have easily been created spontaneously by the influence of the time and by chance.
Sometimes we experience a pleasant surprise to find a richness and thickness of sound when we listen to the records of those days. This can be attributed, in part, to the drum sound.
The drum sound plays a central role in the ensemble where in the midst of small combo, a full blast of sound clearly pounds out the beat while encompassing the entire band.
You can feel the sound broadening as if one more part is being played, filling the gap between each part.
Mahogany was used for many of the drum shells in those days. The secret of the rich drum sound seems to come from the Mahogany material. We assume that the reasons for pervasive use of Mahogany was its inexpensive price, ease of processing and its adaptability for gluing the covering materials. Sound expectations from the drums have diversified with the times, resulting in the demand for new variety in the shell materials.

A new series of Canopus Mahogany drums have been developed with clear implication for re-creating the unique rock sound of 60s.
Our state-of-the-art production techniques resulted in shells with laminated wood of Mahogany and Poplar.
The finished sound of the new Canopus Mahogany series is closely re-produces the vintage -like sound of 60's. It has the full response drummers seek to meet the need of the music scenes of the present day.
