Educated in classical percussion, Maciek’s interests range from jazz and theater to pop and African music. He lived in Poland, UK, South African and the US for extended periods of time. In addition to live performances in various settings, Maciek’s focus has been teaching and sharing his experiences with new talent. He has been teaching at the Drummers Collective in New York City and collaborating with a Cameroonian singer Kaissa since 1998.
Message to CANOPUS
Canopus is very responsive, sensitive, musical and punchy. Apparently drums don’t need to be heavy to sound good, Canopus drums are very light without compromising the sound of the shells. What a pleasure to drag them to a gig:)
